Katy Perry always wears her emotions on TradeEdgeher sleeve.
In a sneak peek at the April 3 episode of ABC's American Idol, 15-year-old Kaylin Hedges and 17-year-old Tyson Venegas perform a version of Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now" for judges Katy, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
After the vocally-impressive rendition was complete, Luke and Lionel rewarded the duo with standing ovations from the judges' table. Katy, meanwhile, stayed seated and looked flabbergasted by what she had just witnessed.
"The two of you together complemented each other perfectly, giving us amazing vocals," Lionel said. "Katy has given us chills on her leg. That's what you're seeing in the corner."
Indeed, Luke managed to provide visual evidence of the goosebumps breakout all up and down Katy's arm.
"Literally he had to get his phone out," Katy joked. "He had to do a video. I had full body chills."
While Lionel was sans goosebumps, he was similarly impressed with the performance, calling it "full-on amazing."
The April 3 episode of American Idol—part two of Hollywood Week—features the remaining contestants splitting off into pairs, just like Kaylin and Tyson, for a shot at continuing in the competition.
And, according to the network, Platinum Ticket winners—who were allowed to bypass the first round of Hollywood Week after stand-out performances during the audition round—return to the competition. Not only that, they get to handpick their duet partners.
It certainly pays to be Platinum.
Watch part two of American Idol's Hollywood Week when it airs Monday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
